Hi All,
Just a regular post to understand whether all/most men are like this please?
Let's say you walk in front of your husband with clothes inside out, would your husband notice? Or another example, let's say you only have one earring on our ears, but lost the other one, how long does it generally take your husband to notice it or would you find that out yourselves?
Just curious! :)

My DP didn’t notice he’d put his own hoody on inside out one day.

I think he’d notice my inside out coat if there was a label flapping around. Earrings? Absolutely not.

Thank you Ladies. For those with husbands who are not observant, do you like it that way or wish they were more observant?

Edited

Sometimes but I would much prefer fixing the problems myself in the first place than needing him to be responsible for noticing, I am an adult and responsible for me

NDHz · 25/02/2025 20:00

He would quickly notice anything that made him worry about me (if I looked pale, hadn’t got dressed, wasn’t dressed in my normal way for something), but would be unlikely to notice (or perhaps to comment on) things that were more just self expression such as jewellery.

HangingOver · 25/02/2025 20:01

I have 10 earrings so I'm almost always missing one 😀

Madickenxx · 25/02/2025 20:03

DH would 100% notice as he's Mr Detail - it's very annoying as I can never buy a new outfit and say "this old thing?"

user4434 · 25/02/2025 20:04

I once had 8 inches cut off my hair. DH didn’t notice until he saw the payment to the hairdressers on the joint account banking app 2 days later - looked up from his phone and said “oh your hair looks nice” 🤣

Uppitywoman · 25/02/2025 20:06

No! He never noticed when accidentally I set my hair on fire and I was sat next to him.

ThatEllie · 25/02/2025 20:09

Not clothing related but I once had a partner that didn’t notice that I’d gone from three horses to seven. I just kept getting ones in the same colours that I already had.

Finally one day when he came out with me he asked who all the others belonged to.
Me, darling. Grin

RosieShacklebolt · 25/02/2025 20:15

Inside out coat, maybe? Likely not though.
Earring definitely not.

If I make a proper effort and get really nicely dressed up he might notice, but basically if in regular clothes day to day he wouldn't notice if anything a bit off or different.

Don't care really, I'm exactly the same as him 😂 his mother notices loads and asks me (lighthearted) how can you let him go about like this and I'll have to properly look at him when she comments in order to notice the fact his shoes are all scuffed and he has a hole in his jumper or something 😂and I tell her honestly, I just don't notice haha

Olika · 25/02/2025 20:15

Nothing goes unnoticed from my DH. It's actually annoying as I am more chilled so cannot be bothered about everything being perfect.

arcticpandas · 25/02/2025 20:16

I have the opposite problem: he notices everything ! Whereas I'm completely clueless if anyone has had a haircut/changed decoration or whatever. I just don't notice my physical surroundings but I pick up on moods/feelings very easily.

Aussiegold · 25/02/2025 20:19

I got a second piercing in both ears 4 years ago.......not a dickie bird....

Crazybooklady · 25/02/2025 20:23

I was walking around a shopping centre with my dh last week for an hour after been to the cinema. I had salsa sauce all over my chin. I didn't notice until I went to the loo. He hasn't noticed at all!

FourChimneys · 25/02/2025 20:33

Mine never notices anything I wear unless we're doing a sport we share and then he will spot a mile off that I haven't got a bit of safety gear fastened correctly or something.

DS and DDIL came for the day. When they had left, I commented on how lovely DDILs dress was. DH had absolutely no idea even what colour it was.

Rocknrollstar · 25/02/2025 20:40

Definitely wouldn’t notice missing earring. Never comments on my clothing but I sometimes think he does notice but doesn’t think it’s worth a comment. If he ever compliments me I know I look good and on the rare occasion that he has said he doesn’t like something it has gone straight into the charity bag.

RosesAndHellebores · 25/02/2025 20:40

Mine would notice the inside out coat or anything that made me look an arse.

However, "is that new?" is a regular refrain. Er no darling "I've been wearing it since 2015, do you never look at me?".

It sometimes comes in useful Wink

MrsMitford3 · 25/02/2025 20:44

Absolutely not. I once bought new glasses-my old ones were smaller and lime green. New ones bigger and tortoise shell. All 3 DC noticed immediately.

It turned into a huge joke and lasted for months. Never twigged.

He might notice my hair being on fire and me running by wearing an Arsenal kit but then again he might not...

That made me laugh out loud...sorry. 😏

Same here 😅

NewYearNewDietAgain · 25/02/2025 21:06

My DP wouldn't notice that.

ExH....he went to work one day, I was blonde. Picked him up from work a few hours later, I was brunette. Waited several hours before telling him. Even then he couldn't remember me having been blonde that morning! 🙄

mdinbc · 25/02/2025 21:08

I'm afraid it's me that doesn't notice things. After being away on a camping trip, DH had a bit of a beard started. He kept it for a few days, but I didn't notice he'd shaved until 2 days later.

Oblomov25 · 25/02/2025 21:09

Nipples painted green Grin

Scandinoirfan · 25/02/2025 21:10

Not a chance. But I'm just as bad. Sometimes OH has a beard or a moustache, or both or neither. I couldn't tell you what facial hair he has today....

I absolutely love this 😂

EmmaMaria · 25/02/2025 21:16

Not me but a close friend - Muslim family (this is relevant) - my friend's family had always eaten "Pakistani traditional style", on the floor around a big floor cloth, everyone digs in. She aspired to own a dining table and chairs. She was desperate for one. So she saved up and bought a nice modernist glass dining table with matching chairs which she placed right in the centre of the huge kitchen /diner.

Her husband noticed it three months later. So he asked her where the table had come from. She looked at him and said "what table? That table? It's always been there". And off he wondered content in the knowledge that they had always had a dining table.

whydoesitalwayshappentome · 25/02/2025 21:16

My husband would probably notice things like that. When I was still living with my parents, my Dad shaved his moustache off that he had for many years. I only noticed three days later and only because it was pointed out to me.
