Anyone re-negotiated Sky tv recently?

Is it better to let the contract end and revert to rolling before calling? Or call now? They're giving me some discounts to accept in the app, but they're unsurprisingly low.

What approach did you take? We have sky glass so I don't think we have much negotiating power lol.

I rang on the back of the low app offers, got a bit more knocked off but it's irrelevant now because of the price rises ! .... we have Sky Q so not sure what the offers on sky glass are like.

I have always found them to offer something so I'd give them a ring

I 'upgraded' last week - I have a legacy package with a box that isn't receiving updates any more, and got a new, basic package for £24 (£17 less than I'm currently paying). With no price rise until November.

ETA good luck getting through. Took me three attempts and three customer 'service' advisors to speak to anyone who had any sort of ability to proceed, ended up with the retention team after I told them just cancel it!

Yes I noticed looking at future bills the prices seem to be jumping a lot after April 🙄 is it like phone bills where they can up them mid contract even if you've agreed a price?

We did. We told them we were cancelling and going to virgin media. I told them how much virgin had quoted us which was half the price of sky and they price matched.

Same as pp. I had an email from Sky saying my monthly bill was going up from £37 to £55.
Quick look on comparison sites showed I could get virgin for £24. I didn’t want to go with virgin for various reasons but told Sky I was leaving and they came back to me the next day with price match.

I did yesterday. My new contract started in October so of course the price went up. Then I got an email saying that they were going up again in March to, what was for us, a ridiculous amount.
I realised we were paying for 3 things we could easily do without ( and I wasn't even aware we had) - HD, broadband boost and Talk anytime so go them removed which saved a lot.
He offered me 6 months of Sky Cinema free of charge which I declined as we never watch films and these things rely on people forgetting to cancel them after the free period.

I got mine down by about £40 altogether.

I did last month but mainly the price reductions I got were due to removing things we were paying for and not using rather than getting a particularly better deal. There aren’t really any great offers around to be honest and they know that so don’t have to battle, plus if you have Sky Glass you’re stuck anyway
