What a beautiful voice she had. Her version of The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face is my favourite version. Classic.

Agreed. She had a wonderful voice. I was sad to learn she had had a stroke a few years ago. Still, 88 is a good age.

RIP Roberta. Trying times is amazing, and so relevant now.

RIP - she brought much joy with her beautiful voice.

Just been listening to "Where is the Love", her duet with Donny Hathaway - so good, so smooth and soulful. What a unique and beautiful voice, RIP Roberta.

I was listening to the radio programme about the song Killing me Softly a couple of days ago. Her version of that is absolutely wonderful.

Donny Hathaway had a beautiful voice too. I think both of them had ‘technically’ good voices but it’s not really about that for me. It’s the emotional quality in their voices that made them special. For example I know Whitney Houston was exceptionally talented, but her voice does nothing for me.

I still have my Killing Me Softly Gatefold LP from 1973. I remember my brother coming to visit once and he was after it, and I refused to hand it over, and we all went to Banbury and walked past a record shop and there, in the front of the shop, at the front of the vinyl racks, was the same album so he bought it there instead.

I'm gutted, she has been a favourite of mine since I was a child. RIP Roberta.

Sorry to see that she’s passed away. Her obituaries describe a really impressive person as well as a very talented vocalist and musician. RIP.
