Those massive multi vitamins & heartburn/indigestion

Yesterday I took one of those massive wellwomen multi vits and almost immediately started feeling so uncomfortable with heartburn/indigestion or acid reflux maybe? It was honestly hideous and lasted ours.

Felt fine this morning until I ate my lunch then it flared up again. Not as bad and passed quickly but I've just taken my medication (Tiny table) and it's back with a vengeance. It's soo bloody uncomfortable I could cry.

A quick Google tells me that large vitamin tabs are a culprit for this - has anyone else had similar that can tell me when it goes away?!!

I think you're supposed to take them with food to lessen any heartburn/indigestion. Sorry I know that's not much help.

I can't help with regards to when it goes away, but, I started taking those well woman vitamins a couple of months ago - admittedly I'm very hit and miss with them - but I've had multiple incidents during the night where I've been scoffing the Rennie's and feeling really uncomfortable. I actually thought I might be intolerant to something I was eating! I take my well woman at night, usually after tea! You've given me food for thought here OP. My next day off, I might take it after breakfast and see if the same thing happens!

I'll be rather cheesed off if it is as I've just ordered another three boxes on Amazon!

Did you take them with food? I had the same issue until I looked on the packet and it said to take them with a main meal- I never normally bother but the well woman ones definitely do need it!

Try ‘sandwiching’ them during meals. So, eat half your meal, have the vitamins, continue eating your meal. The vitamins get buried in amongst the food and lessens any side effects. If I don’t do this, I get horrendous nausea.

I was going to buy some as I currently don’t take any vitamins. They looked huge in the packet which stopped me.
Why do they cause such a lot of heartburn?
