I know that cringe well. I'd seen all the films on a recent long haul flight, so I played the whole twilight series. I was a little embarrassed, but it offered up some great laugh out loud moments and helped to pass the time.

Love Actually
Dirty Dancing

Agentscullyandmulder · 23/02/2025 11:27

Fifty shades of grey. It's not even what the films about, it's the acting in it. It's absolutely atrocious

Ahsheeit · 23/02/2025 11:57

Anything with Jim Carey in them.

Frazzledcatmama · 23/02/2025 12:53

Yes so agree Jim Carey and adding to that anything with Tom Cruise

Yes to Jim Carey

Some films are just very much of their time. I have romanticised the Disney Swiss Family Robinson film from the 60 's I watched as a child for years. I watched it again recently and I couldn't finish it. It was sexist, implausible and in all probability the animals used were probably drugged which does not sit right with me at all

GreenClock · 23/02/2025 13:14

Early Hugh Grant stuff including the ridiculous Prime Minister storyline in Love Actually.

But his later work is great. He’s a talented actor.

Coffeeishot · 23/02/2025 13:14

Black Swan it was just a total cringe fest I hated it !

I've only seen a cinema trailer for 1 of the 50 shades films I wanted to crawl under my seat!

Jamie Dornan was on something I watched maybe Graham Norton, anyway even he looked embarrassed about the whole thing !

The Notebook

A story of two total wankers being melodramatic and narcissistic before having small children play along pretending their grandma is a stranger.

Happyinarcon · 23/02/2025 13:32

Maybe Mrs doubtfire, I’m probably old and grumpy but Robyn Williams just seems like a real pain in the arse and I would have run off with pierce brosnan.

ohyesido · 23/02/2025 13:32

Love Actually.

Who would think that lusting after your friend's 18 year old wife is somehow romantic?

Hate it I don't know why it's described as a "classic " horrible film.

username299 · 23/02/2025 13:59

I started watching a film called That's My Boy with Sandler about a school boy that has a sexual relationship with his teacher. I thought I was going to faint from cringing. I turned it off after about ten minutes.

That's way up there but other films include The Holiday which comes a close second.

Chickenwing2 · 24/02/2025 20:50

I love you man. It's hilarious but so cringey I can't bring myself to watch it again

Holliegee · 04/01/2026 22:44

Rita sue and Bob too.

Omg this!

PoorUncleBarry · 04/01/2026 23:57

I can't explain it but, Mamma Mia. I leave the room. Also, stage plays. I dont know why, maybe I cannot suspend disbelief so they all look like plonker in costumes on a stage/set.

stinkywinkythethird · 04/01/2026 23:57

The Star Wars films with Padme and Anakin. The acting makes me vomit in my mouth.

MaloryJones · 05/01/2026 00:02

4 weddings and a Funeral

Rita, Sue and Bob Too

The Lair of the White Worm is a masterpiece, @GreenClock ! 😁

Sgtmajormummy · 05/01/2026 00:50

The Les Miserables film. The singing was just dire. I have a feeling Cats was even worse.

This week I watched Rowan Atkinson in Man vs Baby (4 episodes trying to recreate Mr Bean). Every gag was signposted far in advance and the CG baby was creepy, product placement everywhere and all the London Landmarks (yawn) were out in force.

I nearly switched off several times but kept hoping for an improvement. Didn’t happen.

PassportPanicFuuuck · 05/01/2026 01:01

Any with gratuitous diarrhea scenes like American Pie and Bridesmaids.
