Hello, bit random but when parking today i reversed into the bollard in the car park, i was obviously going super slow so no damage to car or anything but i remember reading that even a minor bump needed the car seats replacing. I know it isnt an accident so i hoping it doesnt count?

I believe the definition of accident is if it sets the airbags off, so you're fine.

Reversing into something isn't the same as an accident, unless it happened at speed, you're fine :)

No they don't.

The guidance when I lived in America was no need after a minor accident and for it to be minor all of the following have to apply: car able to be driven away, no damage to the door nearest the car seat, no injuries to any of the passengers, air bags did not deploy and no visible damage to the car seat. So I had a car into the back of me in slow moving traffic resulting in a small bumper dent and based on the above did not replace DD’s car seat. I know that’s not the UK but it seems logical enough to me so I would personally apply the same rules here and in your case I would definitely not replace it.

Oh amazing thanks everybody! I think i read into the "any bump" a bit too literally!

Thats a relief not to have to get new ones.

Really appreciate your replies 💜
