Have you ever broken your thumb?

A week ago I tripped over the dog (I know how original) went flying into a door frame. My thumb took the brunt of it.

I eventually went up to A&E as the pain & swelling got really bad. X-ray showed no fracture but they gave me a brace to keep on - but said to only wear it for a few days.

I did as instructed, my thumb is a lovely shade of yellow at the moment but it’s still so painful. I don’t have much movement in it either

anyone else done similar? How long did it take to heal?

Ow. That sounds really painful. I haven't broken my thumb, but I did once dislocate a little finger by leaving it in the way of a kicking horse, and that took about 3 months before it felt better.
