Aging badly

I’m 40 with a 4 month old (and 11 year old sen child )
I don’t smoke and rarely drink alcohol. When I’m not on maternity leave I do work full time and my job is pretty stressful.
my diet is ‘middle’ I guess too many carbs and sugars than I’d like but still pretty healthy in comparison to many. I do exercise. I last had Botox maybe about 2/3 years ago. But I really am looking about 60. Or I’m wondering if it’s normal without any ‘procedures’ my hairs going greyer (don’t mind about that!) but I’m feeling so rubbish. When I’ve never really been too vain (vain enough for Botox-I realise the contradiction there!) just after some sisterhood support really. Check out those greys and wrinkles! In toying whether to just get more Botox or try up my skincare game. I’m not the best at hydration but trying now I’ve seen this photo.
I am ALWAYS smiling. I’m known for that. Also have goofy teeth so that doesn’t help! Ha am planning to get a decent tint on my eyebrows.

Ohhh but to me you look amazing. Your natural hair tones suit your skin (and no nasty dye chemicals staying in your body). Your skin tone is even, you look like you have lovely eyes and smile too. You do look tired but you're keeping a tiny human alive! It won't always be this hard.

Your children love that face exactly as it is, because you are their beautiful mum. We all feel terrible with small babies haha, but I promise you, being alive is a gift and you are so much more as a person than what cosmetics sales targets and social media tells us we should look like. You are beautiful right now.

FamiChiki · 20/02/2025 13:23

Also, "goofy" teeth are the best. They are characterful, and dare I say, individual and quirky. To see an unfiltered, real person smiling a lot is worth more than ten thousand perfect boring fake Hollywood smiles to me. Your kids will grow up and see your smiling confidence, and that is so good.

You look cheerful and fun, and I'd keep that look over injected and smoothed out any day... You earn laughter lines by enjoying your time , a visual representation of that on your face is a badge of honour ❤️

Alwaysbackandforth · 20/02/2025 13:23

What stands out for me OP is the fact you are known for always smiling.
I just think that is wonderful.
It says such a lot about the type of person you are. And it's something to be celebrated.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with your photo.

ViciousCurrentBun · 20/02/2025 13:27

Social media has a lot to answer for and all these cosmetic procedures being touted. Don’t worry about it. Ageing is a gift not afforded to everyone.

Frequency · 20/02/2025 13:31

You have lovely clear skin, OP. I think you're worrying about nothing. You look (and sound) great.

PapaJohnIsMyBFF · 20/02/2025 15:23

Youthful looks will leave us all one day, and we could either devote ourselves to chasing it forever with various maintenance procedures, or age with confidence.

Smiles however, never grow old!

Agree with PPs about your lovely colouring!!

Istilldontlikeolives · 20/02/2025 15:42

Yes you look tired but… you have a 4 month old and all the rest…. Yes your forehead looks like it could do with some hydration… a cream with hyaloronic acid perhaps. I wonder if you could get an eyebrow brush and kind of brush your eyebrows up rather than the way they slope down at the moment. Mostly you just look very kind (and normal) though 🙂.

Quacking4it · 20/02/2025 15:46

I think you look fab. I see no greys. I love your skin and you have laughter lines which is good!

pearbottomjeans · 20/02/2025 15:49

I’d die for clear skin like yours! And you look slim which I would also love to be. You have a 4 month old, of course you’re not feeling top notch!

Diningtableornot · 20/02/2025 16:06

You look pretty with good bone structure, and I'd guess that your age is early forties at most.
Just a bit tired and maybe a bit worried, but hopefully that will past.

TrainTicket · 20/02/2025 16:11

You look good to me too.
Im a bit older than you and would love your even skin tone, mine has been a shambles since mid-30s.
I wish more people would choose their natural selves rather than thinking they need their skin to be so tight it could be used as a trampoline!
I think someone who smiles a lot and is their natural selves is far more attractive than someone who wants to look like an instagram clone.

gamerchick · 20/02/2025 16:13

Your skins clear and even OP. It just looks a bit dehydrated. How much water do you drink?

Overtheatlantic · 20/02/2025 16:15

You look fantastic! Beautiful, clear skin and a lovely vibe about you. Please don’t be so hard on yourself. You don’t look anywhere near 60. 💐

What a lovely reply. I’ve never posted on a forum before. So great to get some positivity from strangers!

I do dye my hair 🙈 this is just it growing out! Just can’t believe how much I’ve aged in 1 year. I am loving doing it all again mind.

thanks for taking the time to reply ✨✨
