Recycling thin plastic

It's great that supermarkets accept this, but I'm trying to find the best way of doing it.
Waitrose have a bin with a thin slot, often totally bunged up. Sainsbury's will only accept them in - yes- a plastic bag. Which seems bonkers to me.
Until I started recycling thin plastic, I didn't realise how much we had. So I want to continue, but there must be easier ways.

I use the plastic bags that bread comes in , and fill them up with what I'm recycling

Yes. If I have a bag that I no longer need I put other thin plastic in it then drop it off. Tesco just has a big metal bin you drop it in - no need for it to be bagged but it is easier to transport

I open the thick non-ripping bags carefully and then stuff them with other recycling. Bags I find best include
Carrots and other root veg that come in bags
Chips
Frozen peas and sweetcorn

I just keep one bigger bag and stuff it with smaller items tied in knots, then take it to recycle when it's full.

I use either a carrier bag or pedal bin liners and fill those. It is amazing how much you collect isn't it!

My local aldi have a massive, plastic bin inside the door for soft plastics. Its always full, so people just leave their bags next to the massive bin. No need to push the plastic through the tiny slot! They have now started providing an even bigger, plastic bag, to put all the smaller bags into! 😆
