I’m so sad. Anyone want to tell me a happy story to help me smile?

I’m having a shitty time at the moment. I’m grieving, my DH is really miserable (possibly depressed) and often unkind, DS is awaiting an update from CAMHS and his self-esteem is on the floor. There is never a moment’s joy or even peace in my house. DD has had enough and shuts herself away in her room. I’m constantly trying to uplift and keep the peace between everyone but I’m exhausted.

I need something to make me feel some sort of joy or endearment. Anyone want to share some positivity with me?

The reaction from the man at the pub made me laugh out loud Baby wallaby adopted by Thirsk farmers after losing mum - BBC News

I took a baby wren off my cat and kept it overnight in a box as it was in a state.

The following morning I shut the cat in and let the baby go and the parent bird came down and fed it from it's crop and they flew away together.

If I hadn't seen this myself, I would never have believed it.

Also - I have and am still going through very hard times. They don't last.

Saw two smowdrops in my garden this morning. I can't remember planting them.
They made me smile.
I hope things improve for you, deep breaths 🌷

I went to bed early last night to watch the Love Island final and when my 8 year old went up to bed he came into my room and tucked me in. It was honestly the sweetest moment.

I saw the first sprouts of wild daffodils this morning. Made my week at the thought of brighter better times to come.

My DS's car got stuck trying to get out of his driveway yesterday. On top of an ice storm the day before, we had had a follow-up snow storm during the night.
The city plow had plowed the road, effectively sealing off every driveway with deep, thick, packed and ice-coated snow. He did shovel but not well enough, and the car is low and got stuck, just a bit onto the road luckily. Within a few minutes several men came outside with their shovels.
The wind was whipping the fresh snow every which way, but these neighbour men working together got my DS's car free, and they waved him on....so grateful to them, so it may seem like a small good news story, but it's a beautiful thing when people come together to help one another!
OP I hope things improve for you soon. Illness and sadness is so enervating, and it does suck the joy out of one.
Keep up the good work OP, it seems to fall on women to make everything better, keep strong, things will get better x

I follow uplifting people on Insta/FB, Lee Asher (The Asher House, dog rescue) is a good one, so warm with lots of good stories (if you like dogs (obv) there's also a horse rescue one (Skydog Sanctuary).
Hannah Bullen-Ryner art post lovely nature pictures (she makes them from leaves/petals/rocks outdoors)

My daughter in law asked me the other day if I knew who Kanye West was 🤣

My goddaughter, age 7 months, has just learned the name of one of her parents’ several cats. She now YELLS the name at any cat that comes into her view, beams a big gummy smile, and claps her hands. It’s utterly adorable.

Sadly it’s a one-sided love affair. The cats, of course, look at her with a mixture of horror and disdain and then leave the room 😂
