The Caroline flack thread made me think of this.
I remember 2020 started with the fires in Australia being widely reported, and then Caroline flacks death happened in February. Then it felt like Covid dominated the headlines all year apart from George Floyd’s death in the June.
The only other thing I remember was a little girl being murdered in an awful event just before the lockdowns https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Emily_Jones I imagine this would have been given wider coverage if it hadn’t been for the lockdown. Awful event.
