Alexa or Google home?

I am lately getting into some smart devices.

I have a pet camera and a smart bulb.

I am interested in getting a maybe an Alexa or 'ok google' device.

Which one would be best?

I am an android phone user if that will make any difference.

I would maybe like to talk to it and ask it to turn on the light in my room.

I am half thinking about an Alexa so that my phone's are not set off when 'ok google' is said.

Also I think this machine may be for the kitchen so that my mother can use it during the day and chat to it and ask for her radio station. But then I am somewhat apprehensive too because she will likely plug it out every day and I think these machines have to be plugged in all the time.

What do you guys think?

We have some of each scattered around our house. The Google one is smarter. Alexa talks crap far more.

Also it doesn't matter if she unplugs either. You can just plug them back in. But why would she want to?

Omg Google home is superior

I have an alexa screen thing and it's taken over a year to figure it out

The only plus is, if you have ring cameras (I've got the doorbell and then one in each room) then alwxa is better as it links to them x

I have an echo smart speaker in my kitchen and living room, they're great.

Alexa is really primitive compared to Google home.
