I just had potato smilies, Bernard Matthews turkey unicorns and spaghetti hoops. It was bloody lovely. Does anyone else eat meals like this every so often

my brother the other day had turkey dinosaurs, in bread with ketchup 🤣

I would kill for some McCain pizza fingers right now, they were the ultimate snack, oven 10 mins done 🙂‍↔️

ChopstickNovice · 16/02/2025 22:23

POTATO WAFFLES

I shall have to get some tomorrow.

Stripeyanddotty · 16/02/2025 22:24

No, would not eat any of that and would not give it to my children either. But each to their own as they say.

reluctantbrit · 16/02/2025 22:29

No, I find most of these things dry and flavourless.

I don't mind decent oven chips and fresh, hmemade chicken goujons or fish fingers. But most of the typical kids meal ideas aren't my taste at all.

TheChosenTwo · 16/02/2025 22:40

I love a boiled egg and soldiers if everyone js out 😋

Areolaborealis · 16/02/2025 22:41

Instant curry noodles with cheese eaten alone in front of a favourite film or Youtube video. Bliss.

Oh so do I but only if I don't have to make it for anyone else

I don't like the Op tea suggestion ( only because it's not my thing) but I do love a bowl of cereal for a solo tea!

Stripeyanddotty · 16/02/2025 22:45

@Differentstarts
Nope.

henlake7 · 16/02/2025 22:54

I eat a boringly healthy unprocessed diet all the time and was trying to think of the ultimate treat meal for my birthday....
The absolute best thing I could think of was cheese and crisps sandwiches!LOL😂

That's amazing 😂, it's even got broccoli trees 😁👏

Justhere65 · 16/02/2025 23:00

Tinned spaghetti on toast with Worcestershire sauce.

Endofyear · 16/02/2025 23:00

If I'm on my own I sometimes just make a pile of cheese on toast for tea! Dipped in hot sweet chilli sauce, it's heaven!

Perseimmion · 16/02/2025 23:01

I bloody love fish finger sandwiches with ketchup.

catin8oots · 16/02/2025 23:02

We call that nursery dinner. DS is nearly 26 😀

Newbie8918 · 16/02/2025 23:10

Fish finger butty, on white bread with a cheese slice. Got to be the crap plastic cheese though!

And before anyone asks, no I do not feed my children this! Mainly because I haven't got any........the fish fingers are in the freezer for meeeeeeee.

RomainingToBeSeen · 16/02/2025 23:28

I often have a 'toddler tea' when I'm on my own or if just one DC is home.

Fish fingers, chips and beans
Egg, chips and beans
Scrambled eggs on toast
Bowl of cereal
Jam sandwiches
Cheese toasties

None of which really count as proper 'adult dinners' but every so often it's a nice treat.

FartyPrincess · 16/02/2025 23:34

Apart from fish fingers, chips and beans and egg, chips and beans, or egg on toast and beans on toast, I’ve never eaten, or fed my kids, potato smilies or waffles, nuggets, Turkey dinosaurs. Probably because they grew up in Eastern Europe and stuff like that wasn’t available.

I am impressed with the dinosaurs and potato volcanoes and the broccoli trees though!

I has scrambled eggs on toast for tea. It was delicious

Scrambled eggs are excellent for you. They serve them in every hospital I've ever been in and I've been an inpatient in hospital a good few times unfortunately.

parkingwars1 · 17/02/2025 00:09

I really couldn't be bothered last week and DP was coming over for the evening
I said "I'm making some food but it's freezer stuff"
Never seen someone so excited over chicken dippers, potato waffles and beans Grin

My 2 year old loves this. One of his favourites.

See also sausage and mash a la Beano, with the sausages sticking out of a mash mountain.
