Dd has been unwell today and has spent the day laying down

Finally managed to get some calpol into her by hiding it in a fruitshoot

Now it's kicked in 😭 - shes up and ready to party

She's having chicken nuggets, found the donut i put aside for her for tomorrow

So we're watching this week's eastenders at almost midnight 🥱🥱

Is anyone else up? Hopefully doing something more fun

I've caught my toddler's sick bug 🙋🏻‍♀️😭

stayathomer · 15/02/2025 23:49

Don’t hate me but that sounds like a nice night (I know not if you’re wrecked!) Hope tomorrow’s easier and she feels better

lissie123 · 15/02/2025 23:50

Just got in from dinner at a friends. Shattered cos we’ve had to host my dh’s family reunion last week and tomorrow are hosting my family. March is clear of any social obligations thank goodness. I’m done with socialising. Hope you get some sleep tonight Op.

Seawolves · 15/02/2025 23:51

I had just nodded off only to be woken up by the blood curdling scream my little one does when he's had a seizure. He is now back asleep and I am trying to get my heart rate back down to less than 150bpm.

I hope she goes to sleep soon.

Yeah it's not so bad tbh 🙂, she's good company and seems to have inherited my love of eastenders 🤭🤭

A socialising free month sounds amazing, I can imagine how exhausting all that hosting is x

Thank you, me too 😭

Oh bless him 🥺 - hope he doesn't have them often?

Me too, she's happy enough laying with me now so fingers crossed it won't be too long x

Spoke too soon, she's now got a second wind and wants to jump up and down 😅

Awake looking after my mam, who's only out of hospital. Plus all the added pain from my conditions. Don't see me getting much sleep tonight.

Hope your lo's second wind is like a cats 3am zoomies and only lasts 5min

Bagpuss2022 · 16/02/2025 00:38

Awake as night owl and it’s Saturday so DH is still up too the only night it happens due to early starts for work
we are watching Jonathan Ross with a glass of wine/beer

thaegumathteth · 16/02/2025 00:40

Teenager has just got in so I'm going to try and sleep now....

Cupcakes2035 · 16/02/2025 00:44

All the best

I’ve just got in from my sister’s hen do. I would have stayed later but I was on taking our mum home duty and she was ready to go. That also turned into taking our cousin home duty but we’ll sort that all out in the morning.

now in and enjoying a quiet glass of red before I go up to bed. It’s been a lovely day and I wanted to have a moment to appreciate it before it ends…

We've got a lovely family, she’s got lovely friends and it was such a nice, fun, good natured and incredible day which my brilliant sister totally deserves 🥰

Oh, I’m so sorry, can you read to her in bed, like 5000 books. Lol

SleepDeprivedButAlive · 16/02/2025 01:03

I'm up. DS is 9 months old and has diarrhoea so after his feed he decided to do a giant explosive poo. Got him changed but then he couldn't go back to sleep without cuddles (is also going through slight separation anxiety even though we still share a room and his cot is about 3ft from the side of my bed). I've managed to get him back down now but I don't know for how long and DH has had a shit week of sleep as I've been in and out of hospital and he's been coping by himself.

I don't mind too much as I'm awake anyway now but I worry about the cuddles as I don't want to fall asleep holding him so just trying to see if he stays asleep or if he'll be back up.

Fruitshoot, chicken nuggets and donuts?
Poor choices to give to a child.

There's always one

Remoboria · 16/02/2025 01:15

mintjim no they'll be many who agree that many kids today have rubbish diets. It's lazy parenting.

The child is ill. At that point getting anything in to them is the priority.

OP I hope you are both asleep now.

mumofoneAlonebutokay · 16/02/2025 10:47

Sorry everyone, dd fell asleep and I went a few minutes after!

Thank you 🥰

She's only 5 with asd and categorically will not have any calpol. She usually has squash at home but I'm really happy with my little trick to get calpol in her 😭

Chicken nuggets are her fave - I'm fine with being a chicken nugget mum 😭🥰

Donuts are a treat as its half term next week - plus she's poorly so I think she can have a donut if she wants one

I was the same with my dd, I loved rocking her to sleep but was so terrified of dropping off x
