Getting a bit worried now

I live in Glasgow. My house 28 years old. I have 2 meters and I will be effected by RTS switch off. I'm with British Gas. They sent out 2 engineers different appointments to fit smart meter. Both said I could not have a smart meter as it would keep tripping my fuse boxes.Told me I would require a 2ratemeter box which BG would need to order.

Spoke to BG they said not their problem and I would need to get my house rewired to accommodate a Smart Meter. Obviously this is just not a possibility.

What will happen re RTS switch off?
Who actually owns meter?.

I feel BG is just leaving me to sort this mess out. I joined them 6 months ago so they knew I had 2 meters when they accepted my business.

BG useless .

From Ofgen:

If you have an RTS meter, your electricity supplier will get in touch to arrange an upgrade to a smart meter before this deadline.

They must make sure you have a suitable meter installed, and that your service is not disrupted.

We expect electricity suppliers to replace all RTS meters before the Radio Teleswitch Service technology ends.

... They are going to have to change your meter, they can't just say no.
