Long one, so bear with me!
me and dp are 34, dd 13 ds 9,
We are in the fortunate but also sad position that I’m due some inheritance, (from my lovely and very missed granny) enough to pay most of our mortgage off, and then if we overpay be mortgage free in the next 2 years,
We have a small house, kids have very small single box rooms, we have a small double bedroom, one toilet, small kitchen, but grateful for a lovely home, being mortgage free would allow, better holidays, invest more, up pension payments, less over time.
Or we could put that towards moving to a larger home, but we would also need to remortgage a little, to get the extra space, and to make moving worth it, both salaries have risen a fair bit since we bought this house 10 years ago. So we can manage if we did remortgage, but we would have less disposable income.
I would love the kids to have a bigger bedroom, to have friends around, and have more space! I want a utility room 😂 ohh and another toilet!
my dp is in for another promotion in the next 6 months also, so this helps if we move.
or a little holiday home in Spain??
