Has anyone ever done a private ovarian cancer blood test?

I can't stop weeing! It's been going on for months. My GP is impossible to get an appointment with. I've finally managed to get them to accept i may have an issue and I've given in a urine test but got to wait a week to see if it's an infection!?

I can't stop worrying it's ovarian cancer and it's growing and growing while I'm waiting.

I've seen you can buy a blood test to do at home for ovarian cancer?

I'm thinking if that comes back negative then at least I have peace of mind? Although it might be positive and freak me out even more!

Has anyone done one at home?

Its so bad that there's so much publicity saying if you think you have symptoms see your doctor but then doctor won't see you!!

Not a home test, but I’ve had my ca125 done by the GP

I’d get one done for peace of mind, but (esp if you’re pre-menopausal) OC is unlikely compared to other causes of frequent urination. Also Ca125 can be raised for other reasons, so if it comes back +ve, don’t panic

Your symptoms sound far likely to be something urinary. I have interstitial cystitis, which causes urgency and frequency. You may have an embedded UTI (which don’t always show as positive on standard lab cultures), or overactive bladder.

Do go back to your GP and emphasise the impact on your quality of life. My GP did a referral to urology, but started me on tablets in the meantime (tablets didn’t work, as I don’t have OAB, but I’m not on bladder installations, which are helping!)

Should read NOW on bladder installations!

Bladder installations sound terrifying!! I shall google!

Thank you for replying..I'm going to have to hassle doctor over and over i think :(

I would ask for a pelvic ultrasound as the blood test is so unreliable.
