Throbbing hip pain

I have had really bad hip pain for 3 days now. It’s literally throbbing. Painkillers aren’t touching it and I haven’t injured it at all.

I don’t know what to do!! Obviously I will contact the doctor if it carries on but does anyone have any idea why it might it started and how I can get SOME relief. Even a little bit.

Whereabouts is the pain? If in the groin, it's likely to be joint related. If on the outside, it's more likely to be muscular or coming from your back.

Might be sciatica in which case only prescription analgesics will work. In the meantime juggle ibuprofen with paracetamol or codeine.
Good luck, it’s agony!

It’s on the outside on the bone radiating into the top of my buttock but no lower than that

When you say painkillers - are you taking ibuprofen?

co-codomol (over the counter) and ibuprofen.

Doesn’t feel like sciatica to me. I’ve had to before when pregnant
