I have not had the flooring down that long in my living room. Maybe around 2 years. Its grey laminated. Teen ds put it down and it's not the best. It was cheap so not good quality. And there's bits that have got damaged. And it just looks crap in general.

I'm not sure if i want to get a better quality laminated flooring ( what would i pay for middle rang) ?

Or vinyl flooring on a roll. Cut to fit the room

Or the vinyl planks that you stick to the floor.

I got my whole house re-floored recently so spent longer than I'd like to admit reading about flooring. I would have loved hardwood but it was well out of my budget so I went for LVT (vinyl that looks like wood).

I chose Amtico because it looks and feels more like wood than the cheaper brands, and it has a lifetime guarantee. The company I went with will only lay Amtico or Moduleo, with the latter being cheaper.

Cost depends on the size of your room, which range you go for (Amtico has 3 ranges) and the pattern. I chose a herringbone which takes longer to lay and is more expensive than straight planks. Mine worked out about £1,500 per room but I could have made cheaper choices.

Contact a couple of local floor showrooms and go and have a look. They are all really helpful and will give you samples so you can see how different floors look in your room at different lights.
