Please help me with my next art and craft project - putting glitter on shoes

I saw a video a few months ago of someone who transformed white trainers by putting glue/mod podge on a section of the shoe and sprinkling glittler all over the shoe. I really liked it.

I think the video I saw was white shoes and white/snow glitter and the shoes just sparkled.

I bought new shoes and they are white. Still waiting for delivery. This is my plan. I have the mod podge already. I want to use glitter.

Please help me decide on the placement for the glue and glitter. I bought them thinking I would do the sides of the shoes but now I am maybe the front and back of the shoe instead.

Also I link the colour pink and I think I would love pink glitter. I am leaning towards pink but the white glitter on the white shoes was so elegant at the same time.

What do you guys think? Can you help me plan on glitter colour. Pink or white glitter or gold glitter. I love the colour yellow and apparently gold is a fashion colour of 2025. Help me on the placement too. The sides of the front and back.

Don't do it. Glitter is evil and will haunt you for life even when the shoes are long gone.
Seriously..... glitter is a nightmare.

Yes I know glitter is a nightmare but surely if I was to contain the project. My plan was to use masking tape around the edges that I don't want glitter on. Then carry out the project in an open cardboard box. As in putting the shoe with glue on it in an open cardboard box and sprinkling the glitter on the glue.

Surely the glue or the mod podge would actually as a sealant too. When the glitter layer is dry, I could apply mod podge over it again as a sealant.

If it's truly a dreadful idea I will abandon the project.

Glitter is a microplatic.
And crap in environmental terms.

You using it creates a market which continues production due to it being profitable.
And the shoe glitterbomb going to land fill or sheding off as you walk around

Unlike a puppy the plastic glitter outlives you 🤷‍♀️

Well everyone will be able to see where you've gone for the first couple of days by following the trail of glitter.

After that enjoy your vaguely sparkly from the odd bit left on white trainers.

They didn't show you those parts on the video I bet.

@Greenstag I attempted to make a pair of Dorothy from oz shoes by using glue and glitter.
Seriously - the glitter just shedded everywhere.
It's not a great art project.

Have to agree , I have a pair of glitter shoes that came that way (Irregular Choice) and they shed

Are they the actual trainers you’ve bought in the picture? If they are maybe buy a cheap pair of white trainers instead to practice with and see how well the glitter stays on. Before you potentially ruin a pair of £100 shoes
