Do you have a ‘minds map/compass’?

I frequently have no clue where I am in relation to anything else. If a shop has more than one floor and/or door and you have to loop around to find the escalator then do something else to get back down I always have to take a second to figure out what my bearings are. It utterly baffles my husband that I can’t innately know. It’s not that I’m ditsy. I can drive with a satnav/map just fine and have learned map reading skills for DoE.

Yes. I can visualise routes that I drive, I can quickly pick up new routes and re-drive (or walk) them, often after only having done them once before. I struggle to follow and give directions though, because I confuse the labels left & right.

No. I get lost even in shops, terrible at navigating alone without help. I'm ok at map reading but just can't visualise directions in my head.
DH has a compass, map and satnav in his head, always knows where he's going, even if he last went there 20 years ago.

Yes, if I've driven to a place once I can usually have a pretty good idea of how to get there again

The only time I can remember having trouble in a shop was in Brighton, the layout of a department store totally threw me, I dont remember the name but it was in some kind of indoor shopping centre. About 10 years ago so probably not there anymore

I have a pretty good sense of direction. I love following where we're going on a map!!
