Short break with teens at Easter

I want to take DS16 and DD12 away for a few days in the Easter holidays. Probably UK. They deserve a break. But I have no idea where to take them. I’m on my own with them and have only done summer beach holidays (Spain, Greece) with them before which is fine as there’s plenty to do. But in a not very warm and potentially rainy UK ….. no idea how to entertain them both. Hit me with inspiration please! (Not London as we’re not far away so have been a lot)

Edinburgh? Loads to do even if it rains, and IME very popular with teens!

Thanks, Edinburgh might be a good call, I’ll look into things to do. Why do teens like it?

Cardiff is great. Plenty to do!

Yes sorry, should have expanded on that 😂

I took my siblings when they were teens (I'm the oldest) and hits were:

Free walking tours (we did a normal one, and a Harry Potter one)

Victoria Street is magical, lots of HP shops if your teens are interested, and little independents.

Mary Kings Close went down well

Lots of general cute shopping places. I feel it's just a very cool and atmospheric city, lots of gorgeous architecture to see.

There are one day coach tours up to the highlands too, which are really worth it! In ours we had lots of scenery to look at, downtime to listen to music in the coach, random stops for pictures in Glencoe, Loch Ness boat tour, stops for highland cows, a few smaller villages to explore - all in the one guided tour.

DD(19) and I really enjoyed a short break in Belfast recently. Plenty to do, including the Titanic museum, botanic gardens, great shopping centre with lots of lovely restaurants and bars. There’s also black cab city history tours, trip to the Giant’s Causeway. Everyone was so friendly and helpful too and the city felt very safe - we loved it 🥰 We also went to a Belfast Giants ice hockey game, but I think the season ends before Easter this year

Wales, near one of the Zip World venues. We did Lake Vyrnwy last Easter and went to Zip World Betsw -y - coed was brilliant aside from scaring me to death!
