Does your 15/16yo have a Kindle?

Dd2 would like a newer one than my 10 (ish) year old one she's currently using (although it's fine for reading - just not brilliant & she'd like something more up to date).

I prefer using the iPad for digital reading, but my friend’s daughter, who is too young for a tablet yet is an avid reader, has the Kindle Coloursoft, which she loves. That wouldn’t be much of an issue at 15 or 16 though. The Kindle Paperwhite is a more affordable and simple option.

Thanks @AubernFable I'll look at the Paperwhite & see what dd thinks. I hadn't considered a tablet so I'll float that idea too and see what her reaction is like.
