Can you help me work out what my kid's toy is saying!?

It's a little plastic doggy toy that sings the alphabet. It's got another mode where you lift a flap on its body and it will say:

A is for Apple
B is for Banana
C is for Cherry
D is for (something that sounds like) Dillion

What is a dillion!?!? Or what else could it be?

Dandylion?

Chaicof · 09/02/2025 16:38

Good shout but it can't be dandelion because that's too long.

It's Dillion, or Derlion or something like that

Zusammengebrochen · 09/02/2025 16:42

I would guess durian too. They are very popular in China and presumably the toy comes from there.

Pop a recording up

JackJarvisEsq · 09/02/2025 16:47

The dreaded durian 🤢

DemonicCaveMaggot · 09/02/2025 16:50

Dillenia is an elephant apple which seems a bit obscure for a child's toy.

My DC had a ball that rolled around and yelled 'Oy Vey'. One time it escaped onto the floor of the minivan while we were on a 2 hour drive. It's not as amusing as you would think.

It must be durian then! It does sound like that word, and it is a fruit, problem solved!
