I have spoken about this situation before. Incase bits are recognised.

So the kids are 8 and 9 . For the past 8/9 years the ex had always given me 500 a month for them without fail. There's never been any bother.

Around November 2024 he told me his work hours were being cut due to the business being in trouble. And he started going on about owing his catalogue 2k . So he states paying 250 instead

He told me he was working 8am -12pm mon-thurs . But he still picking the kids up in his work van on a Friday. Wearing his work clothes . He's not allowed to use the work van outside of work. On top of that I mentioned about him picking the kids up slightly early on through Friday so he cam miss the traffic. He replied saying he can't finish work till 4pm.

Then he also slipped up to my DD that he works 40hrs a week.

Anyway because of the above I decided to go to CSA . Ex let me know they had made contact and EX then said to Me that from next month everything is going back to normal and he's getting his work hours back so its all good .

Only because I went via CSA they obviously looked at his earnings and he now only had to pay 390. I know that's not a massive amount less . And maybe I'm just being greedy but I guess I sort of feel like he's laughing at me .

What does it matter.

If that's what he has to kay thrn that's that. At least you know now a d can budget accordingly.

Im not sure why he would be laughing at you but I think you were silly not to be more understanding and just talk to him and now it hasnt quite gone to plan for you.

That's true. I just don't understand why he would do that after 9 years of being fine . Then halfing it

I read that if its less that 25% csa don't raise it . Wich seens odd. Maybe I have misunderstood it because 25% is quite a bit isn't it 🤔

Its hard to comment properly without knowing the full story. I assume he has been giving you more than he had to for a long time without issue. Why didn’t you just talk to him and find out? You were very quick to take things further. You know best anyway, now you just continue.

That is true he was giving more than he had to . But he was happy to do that and it was for his children . I wasn't quick to take it further . It was 3 months . And that was after I found out he was lying . And cutting it in half based on lies is not on. And it had an effect on the kids .
