Best tea

Up until recently Yorkshire Tea was my go to. For some reason it just doesn't seem that great, a bit weak and insipid.
Open to suggestions please for a new tea.

That's odd, I would say the opposite, my favourite breakfast tea is Twinings. I like Yorkshire tea but find it a bit too strong, less subtle flavour.

toastofthetown · 08/02/2025 22:30

My favourite teabags are Twinings, but my favourite tea is the Rare Tea Company Malawi breakfast. It’s worth the extra faff of loose leaf tea (and with a cup infuser basket it’s really not that much extra effort).

Clipper organic is good ‘builders tea’

I really like the red M&S tea

notanothernamechangemother · 08/02/2025 22:48

Thompsons Irish tea or signature blend are my go to teabags. Quite often they are reduced with a clubcard too.

Justleaveitblankthen · 08/02/2025 23:12

I've been told that 'Barry's' (Irish) are the best out there.
Never tried them as they're quite expensive.
Sticking to Yorkshire for now.

stonebrambleboy · 08/02/2025 23:17

Assam from Lidl

YouDeserveBetterSoAskForIt · 08/02/2025 23:22

Assam or Lady Grey are my favourite. Assam is nice from various supermarket brands, but I like Twinings for Lady Grey.

I used to only drink English Breakfast but I feel like it has been rubbish no matter the brand the last few years.

IHopeYouStepOnALegPiece · 08/02/2025 23:27

Twinings Extreme streng or Fortnum & Mason royal blend

macshoto · 08/02/2025 23:31

Fortnum & Mason loose leaf:

English Breakfast
Smokey Earl Grey (contains some Lapsang Souchong)

TheSeaOfTranquility · 08/02/2025 23:33

This.

Clipper Organic Everyday Tea is the mutts nuts. Will never go back to ordinary tea in bleached tea bags.

☕️ ahh

ClioMuse · 08/02/2025 23:36

I like Ahmad tea: English tea no 1 and their Earl Grey

Their green tea with mango and lychee is lovely too.

Twinnings Assam is lovely - reminds me of the Irish tea I grew up with

bigfatquiz · 08/02/2025 23:38

I really like Tesco's own one. I've tried loads of brands and that was my favourite

sparklypinkgoblin · 08/02/2025 23:39

Glengettie Welsh Tea

TemporaryCarer · 08/02/2025 23:41

Twinnings extra strong in the burgundy box. Great if you like a decent sized mug.

spiderlight · 08/02/2025 23:46

Welsh Brew!

HÆLTHEPAIN · 09/02/2025 06:03

Farmlea Tea is excellent...

VioletIndigoBlueGreen · 09/02/2025 18:59

Rington's gold for us, but I also like Fortnums Smoky Earl Grey and Countess Grey.

We buy clipper tea, DH gives it the thumbs up (I'm more of a coffee drinker)
