New car issues

Bought a car from cinch and it arrived this morning ( whoo hoo my previous car is on its very last legs!) . Taken it for a drive with the dog ( already had a boot mat bought from fb marketplace) and then took dd2 to her dancing lesson at which point warnings appeared with the need to take it to a vow workshop.

So after that preamble has anyone got experience of returning a car to cinch?

I have a DH who is beginning to spiral ( we've had really rotten luck with car in recent years after a very long run with no troubles). And I want to say this will be fine we will return this one ( that I love) and go for something without a warning light!

As cinch does distance selling you're entitled to return it within 14 days for any reason.

You are also covered under the consumer rights act. If a fault occurs in first 30 days you can reject the car. If you are certain you want to reject it dont agree to repairs, they may suggest this. If you agree to repairs you loose your right to reject in the first 30 days.

I thought the adverts say that you can return it within a couple of weeks. Have you been in touch with Cinch?

I've been in touch but i5 didn't happen until 7 this evening so unsurprisingly haven't had a response ( tbh not expecting one until Monday).

Just wanted to see if anyone had used the return option and not had the hard sell to keep it...

Thanks Hex99 I had a feeling I would need to be cautious with repairs, we ended up spending an additional £4000 on our last car with an intermittent problem so are probably more hesitant than most!

I got a car from cinch last year that had issues. I phoned and complained the day it was delivered. They booked it into a main dealer for a full review, got a list of all faults and paid for the faults to be fixed in full. It was a bit of a nightmare as it took around 3 weeks for it to be sorted in total but they did give me compensation for the inconvenience also. You are entitled to return within the 14 days if you're not happy with it though

Seeing as you only got the car today, yes, return it to the dealership for repair. You probably have to give them the chance to repair it first, rather than a refund or exchange.

If you end up rejecting the vehicle and you got it on finance, be careful. The finance company have the right to charge you interest, even if you withdraw from the agreement. You'll need a settlement figure, which is the full vehicle cost, plus interest. Presumably the dealership would pay the balance if the vehicle was returned, but you may be liable for some interest. I'm not sure.

Depending on which finance company you used, you may or may not be able to transfer the finance onto a different vehicle.

The finance company can help you if the dealership are refusing to repair or if repairs are ineffective.

Lastly, I would strongly warn against anyone purchasing a vehicle without seeing or test driving it first.

Just thinking of buying a car with cinch. Was this resolved?

Yes they took it into the garage without any issues, it’s been great since and I love it!
