Is it me or is the first comment on every mumsnet post either rude or passive aggressive! Sometimes it makes me chuckle because it’s so predictable and almost sad - as the comment is usually so unhelpful! It’s great when the rest of the comments provide advice or actually answers OPs questions.

I'd say the opposite. Very often the first reply is the only one needed because everyone else says variations of it. You regularly see people posting things like ^First post nailed it'

I find frustrating the posters who race to be first on a thread, only to post a gif along the lines of "I'll get the popcorn"
