At breaking point, need to get out of the house tomorrow night, where to go?

Very rough patch with DH, he has been working away for 3 weeks whilst I parent (and work FT) x3 primary aged DCs. I am physically and mentally exhausted, feel broken and a shadow of myself right now. He arrives home tomorrow afternoon, I'm desperate to take myself out for the evening to breathe. Have tried friends / family but everyone is busy.

Any suggestions please? Doesn't seem to be any good movies at the Cinema Sad

Evening spa? Maybe even get a hotel and enjoy some rest with it too x

At risk of sounding like a MN cliché, are there any local spas that do an evening pass? Then you can just chill on a lounger reading a book.

Or a nice hotel with a lounge that you could plonk yourself in with a good book and a wine?

Agree with evening spa. There are some that do 5-9pm with a drink or food included.
If there is nothing like that locally then I’d buy a day pass for your local David lloyd/village gym/hotel chain with a pool and sauna/jacuzzi facilities and go there

What a fantastic idea, I didn't even think of a Spa!!
Thank you so much for the suggestion Flowers

Do any local spa hotels do twilight sessions? Lots of places do packages so maybe a glass of fizz, mini treatment and use of pool and other facilities for 90 mins or so.

Have you got any big mega shopping centres near you (thinking of the Trafford Centre type) that are open into the evening? Have a browse, maybe get a mini pamper of some kind at a beauty counter, then go to one of the restaurants for something to eat. I don't actually mind eating on my own anywhere, but if you're not keen on that then I feel like it's less conspicuous somewhere like this - take a book too.

Have you got a gym/ health club near you that offers free trial pass - I know the total fitness near us does for example. Go for a swim, sauna, jacuzzi session - if there's a half decent cafe you can chill out in afterwards then even better.

Local theatre?

Or just check yourself into a hotel, get a load of your favourite food and drink, have a bath, watch tv in bed and just decompress?

Ooops - see lots of others have beaten me to it!
