Meal ideas for weight lose

I’m really stuck, seem to have the same thing again and again

meals are important to us, DD has has MH issues and has recently moved home fir support. We like to eat together at the table and make an evening of cooking eating chatting and playing games, anything to get her through the evening which is her most vulnerable time.

DD (25) is trying to lose weight ( about 3stone ) and I could do with trimming a bit too . Trouble is we are vegetarian, and DH says a meal needs meat. DH has also been very ill, is only just recovering slowly, and has little appetite really only wants “fork” food, I did jacket potatoes last night with a mix of fillings and he really struggled with that. The night before I did a Halloumi tray bake thing which we all liked but DH moaned but eat quite well.

im retired so not limited to time, we prefer rice or pasta to potatoes tbh, I just need ideas that we can all enjoy without cooking loads of different things.

Would you be willing to make up something like a tomato and mince based sauce for his, and freeze it? You could take portions out and add something from your meals, ie pepper, mushrooms, sweetcorn, kidney beans, cheese on top, and add different herbs and spices each time, so one day italian herbs, another chilli.

You need to cut down on portion size and up your vegetables and protein. Beans, lentils, legumes, tofu, low fat cheese, eggs and a good mix of vegetables.

You can get a spray bottle for oil to reduce how much you use.

You can check out the BBC Good Food website for recipe ideas.
