Innowalk and EHCP

If your DC uses an Innowalk, how do they/you find it?

If they have an EHCP, is the Innowalk mentioned in there? If DC has an EHCP which mentions the Innowalk and they attend a school, did the school already have the Innowalk or was it specially procured for your DC? If DC has EOTAS/EOTIS, is the Innowalk part of their package?

Not my dc, and not specifically any brand of equipment, but my experience is that the EHCP incorporates goals to do with what the physios hope they will be able to do next, and the input of physios in put into the EHCP, but (at least in my LA) they don't usually mention a specific piece of equipment as it might need to be changed.
In terms of providing it, it is usually the physios who order in any equipment needed, rather than the school.

I am sure that is what your LA would like people to believe, but that isn’t the law. Equipment can be included in section F of an EHCP - case law establishes this. Once in F, it is the LA who is responsible for ensuring the equipment is secured (via a school or otherwise).

A physio would usually be involved in the assessment for an Innowalk, but it is unlikely they would order one. If it was an NHS physio involved, they wouldn’t because it isn’t something the NHS provides. If it was an independent physio, they are unlikely to be the one to order it because of the cost.

For the reasons I listed in the questions in my OP. To see how other people’s DC find using an Innowalk. Also to see if they secured the SEP in F, and, if they have, the arrangements surrounding that. I wasn’t asking if the provision can legally be included in F. I know it can and thus the LA be responsible for it.

To give a parallel example about speech and language therapy. Some people find it helpful. Others not so much. (Related to the first question in my OP.) Some manage to secure it in F. Others don’t. (Related to the second question in the my OP.) Those who do and have it via the school sometimes have a provider commissioned just for them. Others have provision by a therapist already on site at the school or that the school already has visiting. (Related to the third question in my OP.) Some don’t attend school receive the SLT otherwise than at/in school. (Related to the fourth question in my OP.)
