Do you use Microsoft Teams? Help a newbie please

Never used it before but have an interview on Friday via teams

I've got a code to use so that's fine but my question is ... can I test this code now? Just to familiarise myself with it and see how it works

Or will it embarrassingly let the interviewers know that some clown tried to start the interview 48 hours early?

Download teams onto your laptop first. You can then start a meeting with just you in it to see how you look and understand the way it works. Don't start the meeting now! Go in at the time set and you will probably get a message that says something like the host knows you are waiting and then they will let you in. If you know someone else who uses teams get them to set up a test meeting. Make sure you check your microphone and camera so that you know they work as well. You might need to enable the camera when you join. Good luck!

Find someone to practice with.
My next door neighbour had his first teams interview last year. We did a practice run. I helped him set up and ran home to do the 'interview'.

AS PP said, download so you can test your set up, microphone, background, camera, blur etc.

Are you using a phone or laptop? Try and get some decent lighting and angles.

Don't wear anything too patterned it can be annoying on camera and flicker.

You can blur your background or choose from pre-set ones but for an interview I'd just have a plain wall behind. Make sure you're not on mute!

Defo practice with a friend. Not using the code. Get your friend to set up a meeting and you can go into it and see how it goes.
