What vitamins can I take to boost my immune system?

It’s not possible to boost your immune system, neither would you want to. There is no quick fix, however, what does help is a diet high in fibre, lots of fresh fruit and vegetables daily, cut back on the upf, good sleep, sunlight, fresh air and exercise.

Sorry to hear that, sounds like things are difficult? Are there any small changes you could implement?

I think what PP has suggested makes sense. Your gut microbiome is thought to be part of your immune system and you can improve by increasing the number of plant-based foods you eat per day. Fermented foods such as kefir also boost your biome.

Could you try just one or two simple changes over the next week? For example add some seeds to your morning porridge, throw some lentils into your evening meal, have a glass of kefir, have a vegetable with dinner that you haven't eaten for a long time. After a week or two of that, try one more change.

You could also try taking probiotic supplements.

No not really. I had been really ill for about a month. Its been awful. I couldn't function at all. I was better for less than a week. And I'm ill again with a general cough /cold. I get mucus and nasal drip down my throat that irritating my gag reflex and I keep chucking up. I was sick at least 6 times waiting for a bus . Its embarrassing.

I just want to feel OK for a bit because its really getting to me

Lots of fluid then, if you can manage that and rest if you’re able to.

I don’t think there’s any vitamin that’s really going to be a magic cure, maybe some high dose vit c at a push but even that probably won’t make much difference.

Maybe now is the time to start thinking of your immune system as something that needs taking care of daily, by implementing some changes and hopefully by next winter you’ll be in a stronger place.

Hope you feel better soon though.
