Vinted

I sold something on Vinted, brand new with tags, put in correct size as per label... buyer received it and asked for a return as it is too small for her. I politely refused the return as I am entitled to do.. but she has now said to Vinted it is significantly not as described - I have referred back to Vinted and have to await their decision ... has anyone else had this and would Vinted rule in my favour given I haven't put on the incorrect size? I thought about accepting it back but after seeing the pictures she posted on the complaint she had already made it dirty and removed the tags!!!

If you described it correctly then Vinted should find in your favour.
Did you have photos of the labels with the sizes in your original listing?
Because you may need those as 'proof' if the labels are now dirty in her photos.

@nookmiles yes I had label and size info pictures clearly showing the size - she has responded with another photo of the size which is clearly printed as well - hopefully they will find in my favour

@holidayinuk

If they do say you have to accept a return, the buyer pays to return the item, this sometimes puts people off returning.

They need to return the item the same as you sent it, including tags, packaging, etc.

If they don't, you can raise an issue.

Items not fitting is not a reason for a return, so make sure you have the screenshots of their request and that vinted are aware.

Screenshot everything.

Thanks I have screenshotted everything! That's good to know I can raise an issue if I ended up getting the item back. Thanks

Hey. I know this is old but wondering how you got on? This is happening to me at the moment. Sold a brand new top with tags, size 14. Buyer is saying it’s too big for her and she wants a refund. Vinted are so far siding with her. I didn’t think this was a reason for a refund. So annoying.

holidayinuk · 23/12/2025 08:55

I got a full refund, this then happened to me again, with a pair of kickers shoes- again the buyer could not justify their complaint so I was paid. Good luck they took absolutely ages to get back to me.

Yes, I have had buyer asking for refunds fo no reason. I always request the item to be returned as some ask for refunds expecting to keep the goods and get some money back. Don’t just refund the buyer, get your things back and then you can still re-sell.
