Is it the case that if a seller sends you the wrong item you have to pay to return it?

Yes, unless they agree to pay the postage- they don't have to.

Yup, happened to me, price of item was less than return so it didn't make sense to return it. So I lost out as seller said 'we all make mistakes' and wouldn't refund. All I could do was leave bad review, vinted wouldn't/couldn't help. Put me off buying anything for a long while. Prefer just to sell as t&c's are more in your favour than being a buyer.

Ah this is why I buy new, will stick to Amazon

Vinteds policy is that the seller has the option of providing a label (by Vinted at the sellers expense) or requiring the buyer to do their own return postage

If you want good customer service then don’t use Vinted
A good seller will cover their own mistake, but if they are a bad seller or only an occasional seller then the easy option is to make you pay

The same happened to me as with NewmummyJ and Vinted were extremely unhelpful, I left a bad review as the seller was having none of it.

Otoh, I again got sent the wrong item and the (different) seller could not have been nicer and paid for the return label straightaway. I went back to leave a glowing review but the transaction had been closed.

As with everything, some are lovely and genuine & others not so much-how to tell who is who though!

I don't sell on vinted so don't want to resell will return and just not use again
