What time are your work day alarms set for?

Riveting thread but talking to my friend earlier who was saying she had such early alarms set for work, when I asked what time she said 8am 😂 she has no kids and works mostly
from home.
Mine aren’t set particularly early tbh, Monday Wednesday and Friday I wfh and have alarms set for 7:15 so I can get ds up and send him off to school, either have a walk/swim/spin/shower etc before logging on and Tuesday and Thursdays it’s set for 6:45 so I can leave at 7:45 to get to work.
I wake up earlier than my alarms but these are my safety measures!
I hate mornings and consider myself very lucky that I don’t have to wake up horribly early and that my commute is usually 30-40 minutes in my car listening to podcasts.
What time are you up on a work day?

Martydog · 03/02/2025 22:22

5.45am leave the house by 7 to drop my child off at the childminders. At my school for 7:20.

Streetsofkenny · 03/02/2025 22:23

My alarm is set for 6:10am and I always snooze it once. I like to take my time in the morning so I get up that early, even though we don't need to leave the house until 7:55. I have to be in the office (every day) by 8:30 and I drop my son at school on my way. (That won't be for much longer, though, as he's only got a few months left before A levels.)
I like to sit with a coffee and do some puzzles/games on my phone, wake up slowly, and get in the shower at 6:50. Dry my hair, put on a bit of makeup, feed the cats... I need all that time else I'd be rushing, and I hate rushed mornings!

Beesandhoney123 · 03/02/2025 22:24

No alarm here. Dh wakes me with coffee at about 7. Walk dog, school run, work.

RawBloomers · 03/02/2025 22:25

7 am, but it wakes me less than once a month. I'm normally drinking tea and reading by 6:30.

Florence19791 · 03/02/2025 22:26

Those dropping dogs off like children have put me right off getting one!

These days I’m up at 8am on wfh days, log straight on in bed with a brew.

On office days it’s around 7. Brew in bed until 7.45. Out the door for 8.15 and in work for just after 9 for first client at 9.30

Frazzled2108 · 03/02/2025 22:27

5.50 hate mornings, but have to get kids ready and jobs done before leaving the house

Shinyandnew1 · 03/02/2025 22:28

6.40-leave the house at 7.20 to get to work (school) for 7.40.

ilovepixie · 03/02/2025 22:28

Alarm set for 7.10
Leave house at 7.45
Start work at 8

WattleTyler · 03/02/2025 22:29

8:30 and I roll over, get my laptop and say hi on Teams, but in reality it’s another hour at least until I get out of bed.

Comedycook · 03/02/2025 22:29

I don't work but I get up at 6.45/7am on weekdays to get DC to school. If I worked too, I'd need an extra half hour to get myself presentable and work ready...

Pebbles16 · 03/02/2025 22:31

I rarely set an alarm as I - annoyingly - wake up at 6.30 (will be 5.30 when the clocks change and 4.30 when there is vague daylight in the summer).
I would like to say I'm a lark, but I am mostly knackered.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 03/02/2025 22:31

6.15 when I have to be in the office. Leave at 6.30.

TheScottishPlay · 03/02/2025 22:32

5am. Up, exercise, shower, breakfast and prep lunch. 10 minutes to bus stop. Commute 15 miles to city centre, then 10 minute walk to work, arriving around 7.30am.

JC03745 · 03/02/2025 22:33

I did my fair share of nights, weekends and bank holidays and did wake/work at all hours of the day/night. I missed birthdays, weddings and all manner of events that I still remember, but work wouldn't have a clue about.

I now work solely from home and get up anywhere from 8-9am. My commute is walking down stairs.

Moonlightstars · 03/02/2025 22:33

I set an alarm for 8.30, usually awake before. Teenagers all capable of doing their own lunches and breakfasts. DH usually bring me breakfast around 8am though. Work from home and start at 9ish. Self employed half the week so do my own hours and then pays work is flexible as long as I do all my work. Which I do! Much prefer it.l than when I spent years office working.

EerieSalamander · 03/02/2025 22:33

7.50 most days. DH goes to work earlier so gets kids sorted, I work from home.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/02/2025 22:33

Monday WFH - alarm at 8.30. Check emails and Teams on my phone, reply to anything necessary, then get in the shower. Log on for 8.45 but don’t start work properly until about 9.30 - I tend to do a couple of hours on a Sunday night so I can have a slow start on a Monday.

Tuesday/Thursday/Friday - start work 8.45ish - alarm 6.50. Get straight up, feed the cat and sort litter if needed, if DP’s in the office he does this as he’s up before me. Make tea, shower, makeup, get dressed, dry hair. Porridge in the microwave while I straighten hair and get shoes on. Make a cup of tea for DP if he’s WFH. Eat, teeth, lipstick, out about 8.15. Walk to work and pick up a cup of tea on the way.

Wednesday - non working day. No alarm. DP usually goes into the office and I wake up with the cat cuddled up in bed with me around 10.

I really hate mornings.

6am on a WFH day and 4:40am on office days 🫤

Hoochyvida · 03/02/2025 22:36

I hate mornings. I'd happily doze until about 9am, up by 10 if I could.

I don't work but my husband does so I have to wake up at 7 when he leaves as we have a pre school age child who wakes at about 6 .30am.

On non pre school days we snuggle in bed together listening to stories until about 8am. I'm slightly dreading a school run everyday from Sept and my return to work. My ideal job would be about 1pm to 8pm.

tillyandmilly · 03/02/2025 22:38

8.45 am - start work at 9.30 - don’t do early mornings! Night owl - bed 12.30-1pm

TubeScreamer · 03/02/2025 22:40

6:40
leave home 7:45

Shergill15 · 03/02/2025 22:42

6am if I'm in work and travelling by bus. 6.30 if I'm getting a lift - drop DD off at breakfast club anytime from 7.30am. 7am if I'm working from home. I'm not a morning person so always try and maximise the sleep I can get!

cariadlet · 03/02/2025 22:43

Usually 5am alarm on my watch and then a back up 5.10 alarm on my phone in case the first one doesn't go off. Lie in until 5.30 if I've had a late night and I'm tired.

Leave the house at 6.40 to get a bus that gets me into work at 7.15. I'm a teacher and the children arrive from 8.30 so I like to be able to set up for the morning and get a couple of jobs done before they come into class. I hate feeling rushed.

There's a bus half an hour earlier than my usual one. Occasionally, I get that to catch up on work and have breakfast at my desk.

There's another one that's half an hour later than my normal one but sometimes the buses are cancelled. It takes me 40 minutes to walk to work and if I was catching the late bus and it was cancelled, by the time I realised that it wasn't going to turn up, I'd be rushing and panicking so I don't like to risk it.
