What time are your work day alarms set for?

TheChosenTwo · 03/02/2025 21:39

Riveting thread but talking to my friend earlier who was saying she had such early alarms set for work, when I asked what time she said 8am 😂 she has no kids and works mostly
from home.
Mine aren’t set particularly early tbh, Monday Wednesday and Friday I wfh and have alarms set for 7:15 so I can get ds up and send him off to school, either have a walk/swim/spin/shower etc before logging on and Tuesday and Thursdays it’s set for 6:45 so I can leave at 7:45 to get to work.
I wake up earlier than my alarms but these are my safety measures!
I hate mornings and consider myself very lucky that I don’t have to wake up horribly early and that my commute is usually 30-40 minutes in my car listening to podcasts.
What time are you up on a work day?

5.45, leave the house 6.40 for the 7am train to London

Namechangedforspooky · 03/02/2025 21:57

Weekdays 6.15 for a day shift (thankfully not every day).
Saturdays are 5.30am for swim training which can be a bit of a killer if I’m working until midnight!

Bellyblueboy · 03/02/2025 21:58

Office days - 6:30am. I work from home on a Friday (when I can), so I sleep in to 7:30am

wake every morning at 5am though! Then either doze or scroll on my phone😩

popandchoc · 03/02/2025 21:59

6.30 but usually snooze it until 6.50. Leave to take my youngest to breakfast club at 7.50 Mon - Thurs.

TheDowagerCountessofPembroke · 03/02/2025 22:01

6am. Exercise until 7. Out of the house at 8.

DanceMumTaxi · 03/02/2025 22:02

6am alarm, try to be up by 6:30. Then leave by 7:20 at the latest. Hopefully in work by 8:10 if traffic ok.

rivalsbinge · 03/02/2025 22:03

7.20 most days, up coffee, shower Login at 8.30.

I wish I was a morning exercise person, I did try but felt really nauseous even with light exercise, what's the trick??

WonderingAboutThus · 03/02/2025 22:04

06.40, to leave the house at 07.00.

EveryDayisFriday · 03/02/2025 22:07

8.30am, start work (WFH) at 9am.

I usually wake around 7.30-7.45am but on the rare occasion I sleep past it, I have an alarm for 8.30 and that's still enough time to shower, dress, make up, coffee and switch the computer on for 9am.

mitogoshigg · 03/02/2025 22:07

7.40, I leave at 8.40, short commute

mitogoshigg · 03/02/2025 22:09

I do admit I rarely am up before 8 because dh goes into the shower firstGrin

Thewholeplaceglitters · 03/02/2025 22:09

6am, but dh’s goes off at 5:45 so I’m already sort of awake. Then I snooze until 6:15. Leave the house at about 7:20, in work for 7:30.

SaltAndVinegarRiceCake · 03/02/2025 22:10

6.30am mon-wed so I can have 30 mins in peace to have breakfast/tea then get the children up and ready and out to school then on to work.
7.15am thur-fri because I don't go to work and can have my tea in peace once I've got them out to school.

Sodullincomparison · 03/02/2025 22:11

6.20am and then I snooze and snooze. Up at 6.45am getting DD ready for breakfast club as DH gets ready.

they leave at 7.25am and I log on to wfh finishing at 3pm for school pick up.

FamilyPhoto · 03/02/2025 22:13

6:40 in the winter
6:00 in the summer.

Kattuccino · 03/02/2025 22:14

6am. I get up straight away. Empty the dishwasher, make four packed lunches and sort breakfast for DS1.
Eat my breakfast. Sort breakfast for DS2.
Get showered and ready.
Leave the house at 7.50 - drop kids near school and then in to work for 8.20am.

buffyfaithspikeangel · 03/02/2025 22:14

Depends on my shift but either 7.15am or 8.45am

coralsky · 03/02/2025 22:15

6.40. I can start work any time until 10pm but I usually have coffee, exercise and shower then walk 35 mins to work for 9ish.

hardtocare · 03/02/2025 22:16

I WFH with kids. One teen who mostly gets herself up and to school and one toddler who needs some input and taking. Alarm usually set for 630 but honestly I often roll over until second alarm at 7

Minikievs · 03/02/2025 22:16

In the office 4 days a week.
Alarm at 7, up about 7.20, get kids up. DC1 leaves at 8, DC2 leaves at 8.30.
I start work at 9.30, work is 10 mins away. I'm regularly sat on my arse drinking coffee and mumsnetting in my dressing gown til 9.10 when I shit myself that I'm going to be late, and run around like a mad woman,
Am 5 mins late for work every day.
Really must sort myself out

echt · 03/02/2025 22:16

I'm retired and the mornings are getting darker here in Melbourne so I set an alarm for 5.45., though I never need it. I just like to be up and about early doors.

When I worked I never used an alarm. Not the point of the thread I know.

stayathomer · 03/02/2025 22:18

Tomorrow and Wednesday 615 as drop dh to train station for seven then kids to two different schools then I’m at work for nine thirty. Following days just after seven

NeverDropYourMooncup · 03/02/2025 22:19

5.45am. DP's goes off at 5.10am so he can trundle off and have a shower, make lunches, loads the dishwasher and set the timer on various things before he checks if I've woken up properly with a coffee.

We usually leave at about 6.55am so I'm in work just after 7 and he gets to have a walk in peace and quiet before going into work around 8.

Hiccupsandteacups · 03/02/2025 21:52

Laughing at your friend who thinks 8am is early!!

Me too, before reading any responses here but especially after!

A fairly mixed bag really.

I’m not a morning person but my life is so much easier now the older 2 are not my problem in the morning 😂
I sort ds his breakfast and he eats it while I’m unloading the dishwasher and making my lunch and I quite like that he’s got company while he wakes up. But i must admit i love it when he’s on school holidays and I can set my alarm later!
