Had my first driving lesson

I felt really nervous, I knew what to do but in practice my anxiety made me forget everything. When the car was moving and I had to stop it I panicked I pressed to hard to stop it even though I had literally just been told not to press the pedals so hard. I also at one point pressed the break when I was supposed to press the clutch even though I knew what the pedals were I wasn’t aware what I was pressing. I feel useless. Does anyone have any recommendations for staying calm.

Well done for completing your first lesson. Flowers

Your FIRST LESSON - remember that bit.

It takes lots of time and practice to learn a physical skill and you are doing absolutely fine. No instructor is going to expect you to get things right first time of asking.

The first few are the worst. We have all been there. It will improve. Slowly but surely you will find yourself improving so just stick with. I have practiced with my dc as they were doing their lessons and it was hair raising at first but hey they are now better than me.

That's really common. My ds first girlfriend was frankly terrified of driving at first, and she's a better driver than him now.
