What things took you far too long to realise was a, erm... "thing"?

Sorry for awkward title!

I never realised until a couple of years ago (I'm 52 😳) that at the ends of the tubes of foil, clingfilm etc, there are two little tabs you push in to "hold" the roll when you pulled it.

What other "things" can you teach this old dog?

Until the past few years, I didn't realise Victorians were called that because they were under the rule of queen Victoria. I know, I know...

And we were all 'Elizabethans' up until 2022 😁

The era under Queen Elizabeth ii was called the New Elizabethan age.

Actually I think we are Carolinians, or something similar.

@HoraceCope Don't tell the Scots that.

They caused enough fuss about Her Maj not being II that there is now a protocol that a new King or Queen takes the highest regnal number of either Scotland or England so if we ever have another King James he will be James the VIII.

Not everything.
If it is a left-handed thread, you have to say Tighty Lefty, Loosey Righty.

I discovered last week you can open two docs at once with word.....and synchronise scroll them!

I think it's "loosey..." Most do tighten clockwise, but not motorbike clutch shaft nuts, which would otherwise spin undone.

That the velux sky light windows flip all the way round and then have a little catch to hold it in place so you can clean the outside! Had no idea til seeing a TikTok.
