Bridget The Cougar??

Who else is excited for the new Bridget Jones film, Mad About The Boy? I've seen the posters for it and it looks as though her new love interest could be a younger man. I'm very surprised as Mark Darcy and Daniel Cleaver were much older than Bridget. As Bridget is now in her mid 40s, it looks as though she's becoming a cougar. He's quite a handsome young man on the poster, I can't say I blame her. I also notice that Mark Darcy isn't in the promo-poster, so it looks like Colin Firth won't be in it.

Hated the book and I think they cast the teacher incorrectly when he was a Daniel Craig type (note that Richard Curtis apologised for lack of diversity in earlier films so that might be why, although in my head when I read it, he was Greg Davies) but quite like the young chap casting - not in White Lotus or One Day but in Prime Target he's excellent - so yes, Bridget the cougar will be one plotline. Germaine Greer eat your heart out.

I just got out of the cinema watching it. The guy she hooked up with looks about 13, I wouldn't have fancied him! I remember reading the book and not enjoying it, but I've forgotten most of it now. The film was great though. I was glad I'd forgotten the book.

@Jenna2212 At the end of the film there's a one year later epilogue which if you take that to be the present day, implies Mark Darcy is 60 years old and Bridget 51, going on her email address.
