Mri how long should I wait

I've been very ill over Christmas and spent the whole time in hospital having tests. I have a problem which the doctor could see on the cat scan but they needed a better more detailed image so I had a mri on the 27 December. They know it's not cancer so not urgent. However I'm still in a lot of pain and I'm unable to work which is making life hard. I still don't have any results should I ring the department I was in at the hospital and ask if theres any news or am I being silly and should wait to be contacted

Have you looked on your NHS app?

Dollyparot200 · 02/02/2025 09:13

Yes there's nothing on there only the cat scan

Yes I'd start pushing for a follow up appointment @Dollyparot200 It's been over a month.

Ring the secretary of the doctor who ordered the scan.

yup you need to get in contact. You should have the results within a much shorter time frame

Ring the secretary of the doctor who ordered the scan.

Because it was done as an emergency I dont know who the doctor is but I can ring the reception of the department I was in. I rang my doctors 2 weeks ago and they dont have the results.
