If you've had flu and better but still have a cough are you contagious?

Ie - flu all last week but still coughing now

We isolate patients in hospital with confirmed flu for 5 days after positive test. Some will only have had symptoms for a day or two prior.

A cough can last for weeks so not a sign of being infectious. I would say if you are more than 7 days after onset of symptoms it would be unlikely to be contagious still. If no fever this is also a good sign! But I am not a virologist......
