Barclays App still down

For a short while this morning the app seemed to have recovered, and Barclays website was saying everything was working as it should be

Tonight there's more problems and still no explanation.

Anyone care to guess what's going on?

I can get on the app. I do get a message saying I can use my card but my balance may not be correct.

I've made payments today for around £1.5k (4 separate transactions) All have email confirmations but no payments have left my account.

As long as it rights itself it's not a huge problem but I feel for people who have had proper issues. BBC have reported people unable to complete house purchases and another thread on here says lots of people haven't been paid.

I've used my card through apple pay online today but it hasn't left my account and I paid a bill this morning (a day late) before it stopped working again.

I know nothing about banking or their systems but it seems very drawn out to me.

I think it's fair to assume that the people who do know about banking systems are trying their absolute bests to fix the problem.

No one at Barclays will be swinging the lead or sitting with their feet up

Presumably what ever the problem is it's not a straight forward one.

No @DreamW3aver neither do I. 'Drawn out' was the wrong phrase.

Unusually lengthy would have been better.

I started a thread on this too.

My cards have been declined today in attempts in 3 locations and my salary and DC Child benefit (due yesterday) are yet to show.

Cash point attempts also failed.

I am furious, but realise I am luckier than many impacted by this. Barclays ought to be fined heavily & compensate all their customers promptly next week for this.

All these outages be it banking,NHS , supply chains etc seem more common.personaly I think it's down to cyber attacks and all of the above will never admit to being got at especially banking industry.
Hopefully it gets sorted soon for Barclays customers.
