Hi!
I've just done my daughters passport and sent it over to be verified to someone I know, but they have pointed out that I have put my daughters dob instead of my dob.
What do I do?
So so useless lol can't even do a passport right 🙄

Withdraw the application and redo it?

Good they were checking carefully. I get asked to sign off a lot of passports. People are always surprised how long it can take.

I managed to spell DS's name wrong last time I did a passport application for him. It didn't need verifying as it was a renewals and he was I've a certain age. 13? Maybe.
I rang them up the next day and told them. They switched no bother on the phone. They said if it's a renewal with no break, they expect the new passport to be "like for like" and would query changes like a different spelling or dob.

Have you sent them the passport itself, or the application? If it's the application then no big deal, just do a new one. If it's the passport itself then you need to contact the passport office and tell them. They will guide you through what you have to do.

Ds's name was mis-spell on his first passport. We informed the passport office. We had to send it back, with some evidence (I don't remember what). They discovered that they had made the mistake, so issued ds with a new, correct passport, at no cost to us. Had we made the mistake, we would have had to pay the new passport cost again. It really was not a big deal to sort out.

Ring them, I did similar on my daughter's application, I managed to her the right number but had put her brother's month of birth, they sorted it

Is this just on a paper/ online application ? if it's not been submitted just change it

SpiraliserSardinePasta · 01/02/2025 19:17

I applied for DD's first passport & made a mistake with DH's date of birth (which incidentally is why you should not apply for a passport in the wee hours on a phone having had no sleep holding a baby and bouncing on a yoga ball!) The friend I had asked to verify the info pointed this out and had to click the button saying that she could not verify the info. I gave the Passport Office a call the following day - the lady I spoke to was so kind and helpful and sorted it without any further to and fro-ing, so would recommend you ring them. It happens to the best of us OP, you are not useless!
