Will take her to the vets next week if things don't improve.
She's 6, had her for about 3 months. First vet check they said she was in good health, she has two litter trays that are cleaned daily and has never once toileted outside of them until the other day.

Went away for the night so got a petsitter in who she's she's before so thought she'd be OK with, cat was alone from about 7pm to 12pm the next day (I wouldn't leave her more than 24h) not sure if the sitter properly cleaned the trays as when I got back both were unclean and cat had had a shit on my bed, shes never done this before.

I temporarily fostered another cat last month and she was stressed with him being here but still never toileted anywhere else.

Fed her some plain chicken as a treat, she doesn't really like dry food eats mainly wet food.
Had diarrhoea at about 2am this morning on my carpet and wasn't hungry this morning.

Bit worried, she's had recent flea and worm treatment. She goes outside, not sure if it's something out there? She tried to bring in a dead mouse in her mouth the other day.

No one here can tell you what’s wrong. You’ll have to take her to a vet asap.

Poor kitty sounds very stressed by recent events!

Definitely pop her along to the vets for a checkup as they can give her something for the diarrhoea but it's probable you have a cat that does dirty protests!

Hope everything settles down soon

What are you feeding the cat?

Mine are always out of sorts when I go away overnight, even with a pet sitter they know and love. Cats have quite delicate stomachs and bowels and the slightest bit of stress can set off issues.

Random pukes and going outside the tray and being sulky and clingy when I get back. It's fine if I'm just out during the day but being gone overnight upsets them.

They seem to think I'm not coming back each time and act accordingly. Which I can't really blame them for as they've had a few people who they saw daily including my partner die recently so people "disappearing" is something they've experienced. If you've newly adopted a 6 year old cat it's likely they've been through something similar.
