Currently on hold with nhs 24 after calling GP who told me to call children's hospital who promptly transferred me to nhs 24.

Anyone know if you can od on vitamin d?

From how many tablets are left we've worked out that he could have ate up to 10 tablets but it also could have only been 1. The tablets are 4,000 iu.

I'd go to A&E, personally, just because you aren't sure exactly how many he took x

111 / NHS Direct tend to err on the side of caution with little ones (rightly so). I'd cut out the middle man and go to A&E.

Yes I'd take him to A&E if they don't answer soon . Where i live our trust sees all babies under 2.

A + E you shouldn't be messing around with an overdose in a young child.

TheThreeMiracles · 31/01/2025 18:45

A and e straight away hope babies ok x

berksandbeyond · 31/01/2025 19:40

Well, even 1 is double what he should take a day. A&E

Thanks everyone. Just back from a&e and everything is fine. Doctor said that it's more a problem if they get high doses over a long period of time and that a single acute overdose isn't likely to be an issue.

My brother did this when he was a toddler and he survived.

Get medical advice but my guess is they'll be fine.
