Amoxicillin- how long

Virus and then a bacterial infection. Got prescribed amoxicillin five days ago at an emergency clinic as I have an underlying condition. 10 days worth. Feeling a lot better after five. How long should I take this for? Stupidly didn’t ask as I felt so ill. Unlikely to reach my doctor quickly.

Unless they told you differently, you need to finish the course they prescribed for you, so all 10 days. You don't just stop taking antibiotics partway through the course.

I wouldn’t stop taking part way through a prescription. As it was an emergency clinic the note I got was just for amoxicillin. Not in the uk and it is only available in 10 day packets here.
