iPhone alarm didn’t sound

Totally baffled this morning- my iPhone alarm didn’t go off! It’s set for 6.45 everyday and this has never been an issue before. Phone on silent but volume up. Dd woke me up 6.50 luckily. The alarm wasn’t showing on my screen or anything. Went to check it was set, which it is. Anyone else had this?

Yep, a few times. Never figured out why.

This is so weird! Mine didn’t either, also 6.45, luckily I was awake already. I set it for a few minutes later to check it was working and that one went off…

Yeah true! I normally snooze a couple of times though! 😴

Get an android phone. So much better! 😃

EmpressaurusKitty · 30/01/2025 07:37

When mine did that it was because it had decided to set up its own sleep settings, based on what it thought my pattern was. Have a look at the Focus settings.

CheeseDreamsTonight · 30/01/2025 07:37

I've often thought mine didn't but it was always when I was particularly tired so chances are I sleep turned it off

Supersoakers · 30/01/2025 07:42

I’m a light sleeper, normally awake before alarm anyway but Sod’s Law it’ll let me down one day! Will check focus thingy thanks! Right I’m off to work!

Cats are excellent backups!

RedRiverShore5 · 30/01/2025 07:44

There was a blip, probably still is that the iPhone alarm doesn't sometimes work. Maybe a software thing

Comingoutofmycage51 · 30/01/2025 08:03

Mine doesn't go off if it's in sideways clock display mode, I think I read somewhere there was a software problem.

BrotherUrgh · 30/01/2025 08:06

I had this the other day! I woke up at 7 because my cat jumped on me, but I was meant to be up at 6! I’ve heard about the sleep prediction and sideways clock issues, so I turned all that gubbins off since. I have 4 alarms so there is no way I slept through or turned them all off in my sleep.

Only if you want to be woken up two hours early, ending up with you lying awake whilst the furry alarm clock hits its own (very long) snooze button.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 30/01/2025 08:14

Mine’s been doing this too! I have bought a proper alarm clock now because I thought it was me.

I get up at 5 twice a week to go to the gym before work, & also on the day when I go into the office.

Kitty has clocked that as breakfast time so wakes me up, but grumpily puts up with it if I insist on going back to sleep.

Supersoakers · 30/01/2025 18:11

I’ve got a dog with kind of cat like ears who would love to jump on me at all hours of the night but she has to settle for dd’s bed!
if it happens again I will get an old fashioned one!

This happened to be recently. Very strange!
