Hi,
I viewed someone’s Facebook page and so did my line manager.
within minutes of this they had blocked us both.
How would they know we had viewed the page as there was no story and Facebook doesn’t track views.
im intrigued.

Why did you view their page - is it some work related grievance or issue?

If so, they may have been about to block you anyway and the timing is just coincidence.

Yes checking on a staff member who is off sick as reported activity that we’ve informed them they shouldn’t be doing. This is a business related page they have. HR cleared the advice we gave.
i am his line manager.
i don’t think it is due to a suggested friend as was only viewed once by both me and my boss.
minutes later both of us were blocked.
not been friends before.

Perhaps they just set it to friends only from public. Maybe they had a tipoff

You came up as suggested friends.
If you'd never been a suggested friend before and both suddenly appeared as top friend suggestions it's pretty obvious.

When I left my last job due to bullying, I blocked a fair number of people who could be relied on to report back if I said anything on FB (and no I didn't, nor have I ever) mostly because I didn't want to be reminded. Bullies used FB as passive aggressive comments - and to put things like "I am such a lovely kind person who does anything for anyone and am underappreciated..."

Suddenly two people from there who were so far up the bullies back they were coming out of his mouth started appearing as my top two friend requests. We had no friends in common then, nor had they ever been suggested.
So I blocked them.
That afternoon, two of the main bullies' spouses were my top two suggested friends, again nothing in common - not sure I'd ever ever met one of them. Blocked them.

Complete prats the lot of them.

No as hasn’t mentioned it to anyone else it literally happened minutes after my manager looked.

If it's a business page it won't be getting friend suggestions and I don't think that's a thing anyway.

How do you know you were blocked, did you do back for a further look?

Yes as was chatting in teams to Manager and discussing content so looked again and we were both blocked.

What can you see?

You can’t really be blocked from a business page.

If it’s a work page surely the business has admin access and you don’t have to snoop?
