Amazon refunds

Does anyone know how long Amazon take to refund? I returned an item on Friday but still hasn't been received at the warehouse apparently .. I thought they refunded once the item was scanned (I'm sure they did this before?)

Amazon are usually quick and refund when item is picked up.

Most of the time they refunded when scanned. Was it a high value item?

yes that's what i thought that they refunded it when it was scanned it at the post office, i'm sure that's what happened before, i've even heard of people being refunded and not having to send the items back 🤔 i did a search and all the threads i could find were people being refunded and told not to send it back. not high value one was £11 one was £23

not saying they should of course just that that's what a search of MN brought up.

They usually refund when it's picked up from wherever I dropped it off but if it's an independent seller through Amazon it takes longer. They have definitely refunded me for things and said don't bother sending it back - the most was something for £40 but I had been spending a lot of money with them and I think they do it to keep regular spenders happy or if it's a cheap thing which would not be worth returning

i'm a regular and a prime member and both items are from amazon not individual sellers. i spoke to them on the chat since i posted and they told me i would be looking at roughly 2 weeks for a refund 😕

Do you have proof/ message - that the return was scanned?

I dont know if there's a standard but last week I returned a low value item and had an email confirming the refund when it was accepted by the PO, a few months ago I returned a high value item and it took a couple of weeks

This is unusual in my experience- I sent something back yesterday and the refund was issued by the evening.

Mine have always been really quick but I returned an item on 11/1 and still waiting - updates show it should be with me by 31/1. This is the longest I have ever waited.

Yes they confirmed it had been scanned

Hi op, I dropped something off around an hour ago and had confirmation refund on its way. Not getting a refund quickly seems unusual, hope you’ve got it sorted.
